The winding road to enlightenment.

Hi

I searched around a bit and while I saw a few posts with problems described I did not find mine so I am posting. If this has already been asked and answered. Please excuse me.

Yesterday I installed Impulse as it seems to be the replacement for SD Central. From there I updated WindowBlinds to 6.3 ( I am a registered user). Attempting to change themes afterwards I noticed several of my themes were missing and when I tried to change to a different theme it took a really long time and the start menu came out a different color than the rest of the theme.  This morning I re-booted and find myself in standard Windows XP mode and unable either manually or through Windowblinds' interface to call up the Vista Aero theme.

Windowblinds is unable, in fact to change to any theme at all. It goes into the blur for a while for change but when it clears I am still in standard XP mode. I am heartily wishing I had not upgraded since things were perfect before.

Any ideas what has gone wrong and what I can do?

Some of those files seems to be out of sync.
Try uninstalling WB from Impulse, reboot, re-install from Impulse, and re-boot again.

Wbload.dll 00

Borked install.

With Vista, make sure to disable Windows Defender while you update Impulse/Windowblinds

As quite correctly identified above, the issue is a missing file and uninstalling, rebooting and reinstalling should resolve the problem.

Why Impulse sometimes deletes files like that on an upgrade is under investigation.
